The General Maintenance Worker

Job Summary:
The General Maintenance Worker will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
-
Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
-
Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
-
Plans repair work using building’s blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
-
Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include
-
Repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
-
Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
-
Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
-
Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
-
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
-
Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
-
Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
-
Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
-
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
-
Education and Experience:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
Related experience preferred.
-
On-the-job training offered.
Physical Requirements:
-
Prolonged periods standing and walking.
-
Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
-
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
WAITER / SERVER

Reports to: Bar Supervisor for the Rooftop Bar
Status: Full Time
Summary of Position:
Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional experience for all of our guests. Each server’s primary objective is to show our guests such a marvellous time, they will want to return again and again.
Duties & Responsibilities:
-
Welcome and greet guests. Make all our guests feel comfortable and let them know you’re there to personally take care of them. (Hi I am Nikos, I will be at your service today!)

Inform guests of special offers and any item shortage. (Ie. sorry no Burgers today, we didn't receive the fresh ground beef in time to make them) make it sound as quality control

Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy, also sell additions.

Answer questions about our Food & Beverage selections and other restaurant functions and services.
-
Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in our point-of-sale system which relays orders to the kitchen and bar. (remember to follow up and monitor time-lapse)

Insure prompt delivery of food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely matter. (always try to be present and present the items personally to the recipients)
-
Perform and supervise side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment, insure all side work is completed before leaving.
-
Consistently monitor all public and service areas are kept clean and tidy for optimal functionality and best service standards.
-
Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.

Prepare final bill, present check to guest at a clean table, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change (if applicable).
-
Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise.

Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
-
Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the bar as directed by the bar manager or immediate supervisor.
Qualifications:
-
Be able to communicate and understand the English and Greek languages.
-
Must have a basic knowledge of bar/dining room and service procedures and functions.
-
Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
-
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods at a time (up to 9 hours)
-
Be able to safely lift and easily manoeuvre trays of food frequently weighing up to 10 KG
-
Be able to communicate and work well with others (team player)
-
Understand the concept of mentoring, teaching the less experienced and lower positions how to improve and advance in our industry.
